



MEET DAVID
Every community deserves a Sheriff’s Office that stands strong, independent, and committed to ensuring justice for all. You can count on me to keep our community safe. As the Major of the Morgan County Sheriff's Office and serving as Jail Commander, my extensive experience in Patrol, 911 Dispatch, Corrections, and Administration, combined with a focus on community engagement, advanced training, and innovative crime prevention through collaboration, will help build a safer, stronger Morgan County as your next Sheriff.
David Rogers, born and raised in Mooresville and a proud resident of the Eminence area, is deeply committed to the Morgan County community. He currently serves on various community boards, including Churches in Mission, Morgan County Farm Bureau, Morgan County Substance Abuse Council, Desert Rose Foundation, Morgan County Judicial System Mental Health Team, Morgan County Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council, Morgan County Mental Health Task Force and the Indiana Sheriff's Association. Additionally, David is a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association, National Sheriff's Association, American Jail Association, and American Correctional Association.
David's extensive public service includes his previous roles as Vice President of the Mooresville Town Council and a member of the Morgan County Economic Development Corporation. He served 15 years with the Monrovia Police Department as a deputy town marshal and 14 years as a part-time Emergency 911 Dispatcher for the Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department.
Currently, David is the Major for the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, serving as the Commander of the Jail and Judicial Security divisions. With over 24 years of service with the Sheriff's Office, he is the only Nationally Certified Jail Manager in the State of Indiana. Certified by the State of Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board as a Law Enforcement Training Instructor, David is also a graduate of the Johnson County Sheriff's Academy, Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board Pre-Basic, Jail Officer Academy, and Law Enforcement Instructor programs. He is certified by the National Institute of Corrections in Budget Management, Disaster Planning, and Weapons of Mass Destruction, and as an executive-level manager by the National Sheriff's Association.
David's commitment to public safety and community well-being is evident through his extensive experience in Patrol, 911 Dispatch, Corrections, and Administration. His focus on community engagement, advanced training, and innovative crime prevention through collaboration aims to build a safer, stronger Morgan County as your next Sheriff.
